Will you dare to enter?
A guided 3–5 day sensory-deprivation retreat with daily sound healing, nourishing food, safe emergence and integration.
01 / The problem
Screens, notifications, social performance, decisions, deadlines and emotional noise — arriving with no gap between them.
People are tired, yet keep looking for deeper answers somewhere outside themselves.
Traditional retreats help — but most still include light, schedule, people and stimulation.
02 / The solution
Dark Retreat is not positioned as isolation. It is a guided container for deep reset — and the inner compass becomes audible.
A guided container with preparation, check-ins, nourishment, sound and emergence.
A non-chemical path that works through darkness, silence, sensory simplicity and presence.
A transformational retreat designed for clarity, self-trust, emotional release and integration.
03 / Experience architecture
Intention, screening and a preparation call. Stimulation softens before you arrive.
Orientation, safety briefing, room walkthrough and a first grounding sound session.
3–5 days in complete darkness. Meals, daily non-invasive check-ins, daily sound healing.
Light returns slowly, held by a dedicated exit sound healing ceremony.
Journaling, grounding and translating what surfaced into a practical next step.
04 / What happens inside
Nothing here is a promise about what you will feel. This is what many guests report, in the order they tend to report it.
The mind searches for familiar anchors. Thoughts can get louder. The body begins to soften. This phase is about adaptation, not achievement.
The nervous system slows. Boredom, fear, sleepiness, resistance or deep relief may all arrive. Support focuses on grounding, and the daily sound session gives the day a shape.
External noise fades and attention turns inward. Sensations become more vivid — memories, emotions, symbolic images, dreams, insights and creative ideas may surface.
Light returns slowly. You are guided through body grounding, warm food, silence, journaling and the sound healing exit ceremony.
05 / Signature modality
Bowls, gong, chimes, monochord, handpan, rainstick and voice. Sound gives the body something to trust when there is nothing to see.
Helps you land in the body and feel safe before the darkness begins.
Gentle, spacious, and adjustable — they support nervous-system softening through the middle of the retreat.
A ritual passage from darkness into vibration, breath, body and light.
Sound healing is opt-in and adjustable. Some guests need silence only, and that is honoured.
06 / What the guest receives
Deeper rest and downshifting from constant stimulation. More subtle awareness of breath, tension, posture, digestion and sleep.
Mental noise decreases and priorities reorganize. Creative ideas and clearer decisions can surface in silence.
Old fears, grief, anger or tenderness may surface and be witnessed — practising not running from discomfort.
A sense of inner support and inner compass: meaning, intuition, self-trust and authentic desire.
The simple promise: clearer, calmer, more present.
07 / Guest experience
“One of the deepest experiences I've ever had.”
Guest experience
“The place I will return to every time I have questions I cannot find answers to.”
Guest experience
“She knows exactly how to guide you, how to encourage you, and how to give you the space you need.”
On Yana
“I feel like I'm leaving as a different person — more connected to myself, more connected to my body, and full of new ideas.”
After the retreat
You do not return to light the same way you entered it.
08 / Programs
Both include screening, a preparation call, landing and orientation, meals, daily non-invasive check-ins, daily sound healing, the exit sound ceremony and an integration call.
For first-timers, leaders, creators and people in transition.
For experienced meditators, repeat guests, or deeper life questions.
Places are offered by application, not instant booking. Every guest goes through screening and a conversation before a place is confirmed. Bay Area — the exact location is shared upon acceptance.
09 / Your guide
Yana leads every part of the retreat — the preparation conversation, the screening, your landing, the daily non-invasive check-ins, every sound healing session, the exit ceremony and the integration call. Nothing is handed off.
10 / Safety and ethics
This is a self-inquiry and contemplative retreat. It is not medical or psychological treatment, and no outcome is guaranteed. It should feel held, not extreme.
A clear screening and contraindication conversation happens before any place is confirmed.
A stop-any-time protocol, a simple communication system with your guide, and daily non-invasive check-ins.
We say may support and many guests report. We do not say cure, detox or guarantee.
Sessions remain gentle, opt-in and adjustable. Silence only is a valid choice.
Severe anxiety, history of psychosis, active suicidal ideation, substance withdrawal, unstable medical conditions, pregnancy considerations and medication needs. If a dark retreat is not the right thing for you right now, we will tell you — and we will say why.
11 / Questions
Is it completely dark?
Yes. The room is fully blacked out for the length of the program. Your eyes adjust, and the darkness becomes ordinary faster than most people expect.
What if I want to stop?
You can stop at any time. There is a stop-any-time protocol and a simple communication system with your guide, available throughout.
Am I alone the whole time?
You are alone in the darkness, but never unattended. Meals arrive, daily non-invasive check-ins happen, and the sound healing sessions give each day a shape.
Is this a psychedelic experience?
No. Nothing is administered. This is a non-chemical path that works through darkness, silence, sensory simplicity and presence.
What about food?
Simple, plant-forward meals — warm, grounding and easy to digest. We make no detox claims. Food is there to keep you stable and comfortable.
Do I have to do the sound healing?
No. Sessions are opt-in and adjustable. Some guests need silence only, and that is honoured.
How do I prepare?
After acceptance you receive a preparation guide and a call. You will be invited to reduce stimulation, caffeine and alcohol, rest, hydrate and eat simply.
Why an application and not a booking?
Because the container is small and screening matters. We want to know that this is the right thing for you right now — and you deserve to know the same.
12 / Apply
The first cohort is four to six guests. Tell us where you are and what you are carrying. We read every application ourselves.
